Background info and current context:
We’re currently building the foundational layer (both physical and metaphysical) upon which our greater vision stands. The higher we climb up the mountain, the further we can see.
At this point of the project, we are in the build phase, but there is existing infrastructure to support 10-20 people in the wet season and up to 100 in the dry season.
We are building a living experiment as the focal point of an organism of interesting, creative and talented people from around the world who come and go, passing through and touching the space with their magic and being touched in return. This is an epicenter, a magnet, an amplifier, an incubator, and a beacon.
This project is not a product or goal, it is an orientation toward work/play/life as a learning, creative, collaborative, iterative growth process.
The Garden is a playground. It is a research institute for: creation, connection, development of new culture and tools around free expression, connection, collective organization, etc.
At this point of the project, we have some clearly defined areas of responsibility in place which correlate with a healthy hierarchy to make decisions efficiently and move forward quickly.
The more basic infrastructure and working systems are in place, the more space there is to experiment with alternative forms of governance, which will be an integral part of this project in the future.
